had a very stressful 12 hours – everything has mellowed out finally and now I can enjoy some new music. stag hare is from utah, where he maybe makes music at night underneath their very clear skies. who knows these tracks are great though – trippy sample based stuff. the dub-vibe at the end of allah is particularly nice (via NPIP):

Another tip from Evan, Crocodiles is from San Diego (what is going on down there right now?) and has a rad vibe. Love the programming mixed with guitars and the song is just straight-forward pop. Love the sound of the drums and the chorus is perfect. Great way to start getting ready for summer:

I love this new track from Jeremy Jay. His sound is spot on and he does a great job defining an overall aesthetic that isn’t blunt but still very unique.

Cale Parks makes bedroom pop. I dig his style and he plays drums for White Williams, whose music I absolutely love. Similar sort of aesthetic to WW, although I find it a bit more introspective. I love the mix of real and synthesized instrumentation and heavy use of found-sound samples. Sounds to note: the drums at the begging of Every Week Ends, the synth that comes in on the second verse with a bend, and the sampled/synthesized strings on Graveyard Barrier.
I also wanted to test out these new RCRD LBL music streamers, as I’m stoked they finally came up with a way to encourage re-posting of their track database.
Harry Nilsson is one of those musical treasures that you either know about and love to death or have never heard of (and later on can’t imagine how you may have missed him). Someday I’ll post about The Point, but this came through the other day and I love everything about it (especially the guy in the tux who ask Nilsson to play “Together” because he ‘likes it so much’).
