intro sound reminds me of future islands’ long flight
girls have an undeniable quality to them – pop outsiders with a bizarre aesthetic, both musically and otherwise. they are another group that have both impeccable production and songwriting ability. yours tru.ly recently filmed them proper in SF, a video release that coincides with a feature from the fader as well as a stream of a killer b-side life in san francisco. can’t get enough of their sound:

wild nothing’s cloud busting is both a great track (the cosmic synth sound riding through out is dialed) and articulates a natural change in response to weather patters – as we shift from summery sounds to fall and then winter, we tend to find tracks that are more introspective, intricate, and subtle (via GvB):

kurt vile is the type of artist who continues to make me feel completely inadequate as a musician yet inspired to reach adequacy. one of the few artists who rocks essences of lofi without losing his shit in mush. beautiful voice, great instrumentation, fantastic melodies, and an overall penchant for subtlety:
