Glass Candy: "Animal Imagination" AUDIO

Glass Candy have a new album of rarities/b-sdies coming out titled Deep Gems – it is only available at an upcoming show in Portland but I’m sure it’ll pop up on the net soon thereafter. Animal Imagination was posted to GvB and sounds great, per usual. Raw but full production that is aesthetically interesting while retaining a clear rhythm/groove.

I’m excited to see what will happen when Glass Candy produces a proper release (w/ mastering, etc.) – it’ll be a different sound completely but will hopefully retain the ruggedness I’ve grown to love from them and the rest of Italians Do It Better.

Italians Do It WAY FUCKING BETTER

I fucking love everything put out by Italians Do It Better. I just got the new Chromatics album and it kills – it is so spooky and bizarre and beautiful. It reminds me of being in a car late at night driving through the rain. There is also a new Glass Candy track out which is a head-trip. The bass is so big and fuzzy and wonderful.

Both those groups have unbelievable production coming via Johnny Jewel, who is a member of Chromatics and half of Glass Candy. Seems like a pretty cool dude. His drums and synths always sound perfect.

Glass Candy: "Rolling Down The Hills" and "Silver Fountain" AUDIO

I can’t get enough of the production on the most recent Glass Candy tacks. I wasn’t really into the earlier demos that we’re floating around, but the newer jams are just super soulful and atmospheric and psychedelic and wonderful. The beats are killer and I love those horns. I don’t have anything you can’t get elsewhere, but here they are anyway.
