The Samps: "Magnetic Thys" & "Mashed Skins" AUDIO

The Samps! is doing some of the incredibely interesting sample-based electro pop. I really don’t even know how to categorize this (a good thing) although it does very well to blend electronic music history (80s drum machines, 70s synths, etc.) while utilizing contemporary production techniques (an adherence to samples) and aesthetics (sound collage).

Lucky Dragons: "Live at Farmlab" (dublab VisionVersion) VIDEO
I don’t know much about Lucky Dragons apart from their approach to music coming from a visual artist’s perspective. Their compositions are dense and hard to consume but are also oddly beautiful. This video is a great introduction to their sound – not in terms of specific aesthetic (I have no idea what to classify them as) but in terms of their general aura. The video itself is a work of art, melding digital imagery with a sense of warmth that is difficult to achieve (directed by Matt Amato). Via antville:
