recording of urgency began at sunset lodge studio – a gem of a place hidden behind solutions’ elliott smith wall in sivlerlake

sunset lodge is run by chris rakestraw who is straight up incredible – wired/built the whole place himself and keeps the vibe mellow but professional. bartered for our time there by building him a website

the rest of the recording/tracking was done in my bedroom aka the cave – a lot of noise (and noise complaints) was created. good times in small spaces with lots of electronics, feeding of bizarre levels of light

when i saw this video/audio take of woodworms burrowing through wood, it reminded me of my portable recorder – incredibly mesmerizing (via say mayday):

Colin is in Sweden, Sarah is in NYC, Ryan (our friend who did the recording and helped produce) is in Prague. What would modern living be like without e-mail? I’m still in LA which makes me feel boring but at least I have a tan.
