High Places: “On Giving Up” AUDIO

always loved the way high places are able to create distinct atmosphere – new track feels more structured in a good way, tighter production/songwriting/melody. via the fader

Julia Pott: ILLUSTRATIONS

Julia Pott has a knack for imbuing her drawings with the awkward inbetween moments during a forced conversations. Even when those drawings depict forest creatures. Check out her blog or flickr for more. Girl’s workin hard all day all night.

Connected: SHORT FILM

Let’s review what we know about Connected. It’s a Danish short film that was released in 2009. It’s a sci-fi/western. It has an immersive website that offers a great look at various stages of production, including costuming, sound design and a nifty section on matte painting that illuminates the seamless transition between real-world Danish chalk pit and post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Until I see the short (fingers crossed!) I cannot determine if the film is a triumph. But, speaking as both somebody who is knee deep in getting my own independent short film off the ground and as a ravenous motion picture junkie, this project is hitting all the right notes. Explore the site for more videos, hints, and behind the scenes goodery.

Also? That poster is sublime. Graphic design company Barq released a very limited number for sale, so if you have an extra 39 Euro in your pocket, or want to buy me the perfect birthday present (less than a month away!), go thin out your wallet here
