Radical new track from one of my all time favorite artists. The sound of this recording is amazing! It really recalls the essence of what made Al Green’s work so good - super smooth, never overdone, perfectly balanced. The bass in particular really brings it all together. Helps to have ?uestlove as a producer to [...]
So dope. Super rad that they did this and that these cuts are up online (via Nah Right).

James Pants is on Stonesthrow and is making some of the wildest music out there. Amazing synth sounds, freaky sloppy rhythms, and bizarre instrumntation. Pick up Rhytm Trax Vol. 1 at Turntable lab for a taste of what is to come from his full length Welcome in May. Also, enjoy this song:

Thanks again to to GvB for turning me onto another great band. {{{Sunset}}} blows my mind on this track - the way the bass plays with the vocal melody is of particular interest, as is the panning on the drums, which is seriously trippy. The whole song does an amazing job of just washing over [...]
Nine Inch Nails, who I have never been super into musically, blew my mind last night with the release of Ghosts I-IV. It reminds me of Brian Eno’s more ambient work, albeit a bit rawer/darker. The most awesome part is that it is all released under a CC BY-NC-SA license, meaning it is available for [...]
I heard about this on the radio this morning (and via a bunch of blogs). It is as amazing as you imagine it would be. I love the sound Gizzly Bear have honed in on - copious attention to melody, near-excessive delay/reverb, and lush vocal harmonies. Watch and let it wash over you.

Add this to the long list of reasons as to why James Murphy is a crazy genius. This song kills - Beach Boys (and more recentlly Mathew Dear) vocal harmonies, nasty guitar, great sounding bass. This is a production masterpiece. From the upcoming 21 soundtrack.
