I never gave Cryptograms a deserving listen (somethings have to fall through the cracks) but I was intrigued by singer Bradford Cox’s solo-project, Atlas Sound, since its inception.

He is incredibly prolific (positing an absurd amount of tracks), and having finally listened to a couple tracks, I can confidently say that he isn’t just spitting out droned out, Person Pitch, rip-offs. This guy has a real talent - everything comes together so beautifully, especially his voice and how it interacts with the different textures he created. That he gives so much of these demos and tracks away for free is even more inspiring.

The fact that this was done at 5 AM on New Year’s Day, after sleeping two hours, makes me a) think this guy is a genius and b) disappointed that I am not similarly prolific. Oh well. We’ll get there.
