Albums I Bought in The Past Two Days

At Silver Platters or Amazon Mp3:

1. Elton John: Tumbleweed Connection - Bought on a whim as a result of this post. The cashier (who was kind of like Doc mixed with Elvis Costello) was pleased though, so I expect it won’t let down.

2. Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: The Definitive Pop Collection - This purchase is embarrassing for two reasons. Firstly, it is a compilation, which is a big no-no in my opinion (I want albums!). Secondly, it is a result of seeing Jersey Boys. I guess whatever it takes. Anyway this is blowing me away. Bob Gaudio is a genius and Frankie Valli has the voice of an angel. And I had no real clue. Better late than never.

3. Gang of Four: Hard/Solid Gold - I’m reading Rip It Up And Start Again so I wanted to brush up.

4. J. Holiday: Back of My Lac’ - This is pure bliss. It is from last year, but it is essentially new to me, minus obviously “Bed” (this is a good time to mention how much I love Lovehate

5. Prinzhorn Dance School: Prinzhorn Dance School - Yes I like this so far. Super Raw.

6. Serge Gainsbourg: Histoire De Melody Nelson and Initials SG - I’d never listened to Serge Gainsbourg before, but Sarah told me he was one of her favs so I wanted to check him out. Just writing “I’d never listened to Serge Gainsbourg” in the context of the little I now know seems like a crime.

7. Shuggie Otis: Here Comes Shuggie Otis/Freedom Flight - I’m a big fan of Inspiration Information so I’m excited to dig on this.

Plus a bunch more that I’m too lazy to post.
