Steve Reich Documentry on Youtube

Crazy documentary - comes in six parts. Steve Reich does some of the most wild stuff I’ve ever seen. Via Lineout:

RZA on “The Heart Gently Weeps”

Absurdity (Russel Crowe’s guitar?):

[SH] Hey Big Bang (Extended Drum Loop)

This is an extended drum loop we recorded today in preparation for our next track, “Hey Big Bang”. Its rugged but there are some quality ideas in there that we will need to expand upon…

IN RAINBOWS LIVES

JESUS WOW. Unreal. I’ll try to talk about this more eloquently later…until now I defer to my favorite blogger:

A new jam by the band. More to come shortly. CC BY-NC duh.

Two dope videos up on La Blogothèque - first featuring the ever-beautiful Annie Clark while the second finds Elvis Perkins exploring the depths of some Parisian architectural wonders. Very kewl:

Best quote, at the end of the video - Kanye: “If you can’t beat em, join em”.

Paper Planes

By far my favorite track on Kala. So dope. Somehow I missed this earlier:

Diplo also posted the instrumental here. Get it and beat that up.

The Heart Gently Weeps

Peep this RZA-produced Wu-Tang/Dhani Harrison/John Frusciante/Erykah Badu track, which reuses The Beatles/George Harrison’s “My Guitar Gently Weeps”. It is trippy as hell, and when they break into the chorus it is just beautiful.
This is all assuming you can ignore the weird loud.com promos placed through out the track, which I can.

Beirut Live Video: “Nantes” and “The Penalty”

La Blogothèque has two phenomenal videos of Beirut performing in the streets/bars/dimly lit cafés/dark corners of Paris. As always, the sound is beautiful as is the imagery. An enchanting performance to say the least, with “The Penalty” being of particular note.
I guess they are shooting video for the whole new Beirut album, The Flying Club [...]
