Bjork posted a new video today and as everyonehassaid, it is absolutely gorgeous. Or at least, it seems to be. When I saw the stills on Pitchfork a week or so ago I was really blown away – today when it hit the web I could barely watch it. Yahoo video is tiny and pixelated and nasty and this is not a video that was made for the web (this includes the “bigger and better version”). It should have been debuted in theaters (as backwards as that sounds, it just might have worked). it took 9 months to make, at least put it on Vimeo so we can watch it in HD.
I absolutely love how grainy YouTube is. A lot of artists have turned that to their advantage when making videos. Bjork and whoever marketed this should have done something different. I’m excited for the DVD/3D experience, but seeing this online just leaves me underwhelmed. Compare the still below to the actual video:
