It has been a while. Things got crazy – I ended up breaking my wrist, which itself necessitated surgery, and from there things piled up at my job, academically, and otherwise. But we are back. Right now I’m up in Seattle for a few weeks while Sarah is still down in LA. I’m going to be producing tracks over the next few weeks and when I get back south Sarah and I will track vocals, piano, etc.
Anyway, there was tons of stuff that went down over the past week that I wanted to post about, but due to time constraints, couldnt’. Rather than repost everything (some of which is probably so ubiquitous at this point it doesn’t even matter) I’m just gonna list it all and start fresh:
1. David Byrne Interviews Thom Yorke – Very interesting stuff. Two crazy minds. Also peep Byrne’s article about the future of the music industry. I love WIRED.
2. CRS: “Us Pacers” Video – Kanye, Pharell, and Lupe doing their thing over a track from “The Eraser”. I thought this was a Lupe only track from a while ago. I didn’t even know CRS existed. Whatever, it is a serious jam and the video is great.
3. Cut Copy “So Cosmic” Mixtape – Sweet mix from Cut Copy. I haven’t heard much of Cut Copy but I’m down with this mix and plan on getting their jams on my iPod soon. It is free so what do you have to loose?
4. Baron Davis Christmas List – My favorite basketball player wants people to read more books and get a hybrid car. Coolest dude in basketball. Watch any Warriors game if you like fun.
5. Speak n’ Spell on YouTube – I’ve always wanted to get into circuit bending and this video has convinced me even more that it is worth my while. Via the bass player from Gang ou Four’s blog.
6. Air France “Hold on to me Baby” – Great track via my favorite music blog.
7. Mystery Jets “You Can’t Fool Me Dennis (Justice Mix)” – I want to make music like this remix. It comes out as a great genre bending experimentation in my opinion.
8. Larry Levan Produced Mixes – I’m super into old disco tracks (and the flurry of blogs devoted to them) and these Larry Levan tracks in particular are fantastic. I like the RnB tinge to them and what the guy at BEAT ELECTRIC has to say, “His sensibilities ran heavily on the more black end of the disco spectrum as he would always eliminate any cheesy elements in a given arrangement and make sure the track was a sure fire dance floor banger.”
9. Ghostly Christmas Tracks at RCRD LBL – Some great electro tracks over at the Ghostly Int. RCRD LBL blog.
That is all for now. I’m back to posting regularly from here on out. See ya.

I want Baron Davis for Christmas.
